Aikijujutsu

Origin of Mushin no Shin Aikijujutsu Do

Mushin no Shin (Mind of no mind) AikiJujutsu Do is a very profound, comprehensive martial art that has been influenced by several traditional Japanese systems. It is Aiki Jujutsu, a system of unarmed fighting and minor weapons techniques, to defeat both armed and unarmed opponents utilizing the ancient principles of Aiki. It is a gendai sogo budo/ bujutsu system (modern composite martial art). There are four complete and distinct martial arts styles and one defense system that have influenced Mushin no Shin and formulate the pillars of the art. They are; Daito-ryu Aiki jujutsu, Shintoyoshin-ki combat Jujitsu, Goju Shorei Karate, Kodakan Goshin Jutsu and Toyamaryu Batto Do. The two foundational contributors are Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu (Japanese) and Shintoyoshin-ki combat jujitsu (American).

The art is linked in tradition dating back approximately 1200 years. Through the liniage of the gendai budu it can be shown how all these martial disciplines have effectively influenced this system.
